About The Instructors
Donald Mong is a current teaching status, certified PADI Master Instructor, PADI IDC Staff Instructor, and PADI Master Diver Trainer. Don’s background in diving started as a diver in the Army.He then became a Commercial Diver and later a Director of Diving for Alpine Ski and Sports, supervising 5 full-time Diving Instructors and 11 part-time diving instructors for 5, 5-star teaching facilities.Don also served as a Police Diver for 15 years. He has over 35 years of SCUBA diving experience. In addition to his supervision of diving instructors, Don also carries training certifications in Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Law Enforcement Diver, Underwater Photography, Search and Recovery Specialty, and Equipment Specialist. Don has personally certified over 500 divers (documented) of all levels and assisted in the training of 250 other divers. Don is a certified factory repair technician with certifications from Poseidon, Viking Dry Suits, Sherwood, Dacor, and US Divers.
Spike Stone is a Dive master and SDI research diver with many certifications. He has diving experience all over the world in many different environments in both recreational and professional settings. Spike earned his B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in biological oceanography from the Graduate School of Oceanography at URI. A life long sailor, Spike has worked as a crewmember on many different vessels preforming a wide array of maintenance and scientific tasks. He has experience in underwater photo documentation and underwater photogrammetry pertaining to wrecks.
Stephen Jarrell is a Dive master and elite athlete with many years of teaching experience. In addition to being a life guard, Stephen has coached competitive swimming, diving, and wrestling teams for over 10 years. He also travels the country competing in wrestling at a national level. Stephen is a senior is currently completing a degree in business management at Johnson & Whales University.
